Brett was a 1972 graduate of Wichita North High School.  He received his bachelor’s degree from DeVry University in Kansas City, MO.  Brett attended Keller School of Management where he received his Master’s in Telecommunications Management.  He had an incredible work ethic (second to none) which was demonstrated during his career at Sprint and then T-Mobile, where he worked tirelessly as a Systems Engineer.  On March 11, 1978, Brett was united in marriage to Jean Bruso in Wichita, KS.  Brett was extremely competitive and an avid senior softball player.  He also enjoyed snow skiing, camping, and traveling.  He was very proud of his only son and daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.  After his wife passed, he found much needed happiness and companionship with Karen Eastland, with whom he shared many common interests.  He will be dearly missed by his family, Karen, the Midwest Senior Softball Association, and all those whose lives he touched and influenced.

Survived by his son, Aaron Swanson and wife, Kristen and their children, Madison, Tanner, and Dylan of Lake St. Louis, MO; mother, Alta Swanson of Aurora, CO; brother, Hal Swanson of Aurora, CO.  Brett is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Swanson; father, Norman Swanson.
